Over the last few months we have been fundraising to get money together to restore the monument to firefighters and liquidators. During Covid-19 nobody has had much spare cash, so what was given was highly appreciated.
We are thankful to every single person who donated, the work is now complete and the official ceremony will take place on 14th December 2020 to reopen the memorial. After the event, we will post photos here.
For a small group of people who despite many years of experience in Chernobyl only launched Contamination Zone at the end of last year, it’s remarkable that already we have been able to achieve great things and make a difference. Helping good causes in the zone is why we parted ways with our old partnerships and saw a future working together here.
We have more projects in the pipeline – stay tuned for further details soon!

Since you’re here…
Contamination Zone is a group of people who are united by our love for the Chernobyl Zone. We are a non-profit organisation and every year we raise thousands of euros for good causes in the Chernobyl Zone, such as firefighting equipment, monument restoration, animal welfare and more.
If you are planning or thinking about a trip to the zone, please check out our trips to Ukraine in 2023 and if you still have unanswered questions, feel free to get in touch!
