The government fired the head of Chernobyl State Agency

The Cabinet of Ministers has dismissed Serhiy Kalashnyk from the position of the head of the State Agency of Ukraine for Exclusion Zone Management.

The reasons for dismissal are not specified in the notice. The first deputy head of the State Agency for Management of the Exclusion Zone of Ukraine is Andriy Plyatsk, acting Deputy Head of the State Agency for Exclusion Zone Management.

In April 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Serhiy Kalashnyk head of the State Agency for Exclusion Zone Management for 5 years.

Prior to that, Kalashnik had been acting director general of the Chornobyl NPP for a year.
