Illegal visitor to Chernobyl had gun when arrested

Over the weekend, police found 6 illegal tourists from different parts of Ukraine aged 21 to 35 in the exclusion zone, one of them had a gun with them.

While patrolling the exclusion zone, police officers of the Vyshhorod District Police Department found a man with a hunting rifle near the village of Nova Makarivka.

It was established that the man entered the territory of the Chernobyl zone illegally, bypassing checkpoints. He had with him a smooth-bore hunting rifle IZH-17, 16 caliber. The man did not have a permit for any weapon.

The police drew up an administrative report under Part 1 of Art. 190 (Violation by citizens of the order of acquisition, storage, transfer to other persons or sale of the firearm, cold steel or pneumatic weapon) of the Code of Ukraine about administrative offenses. According to Art. 264, 265 KUpAP militiamen withdrew the gun.

With regard to all violators of the radiation regime, police officers drew up reports under Art. 46-1 (Violation of the requirements of the radiation safety regime in areas that have been radioactively contaminated) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.

Administrative materials were sent to the court for a decision.
