Police arrest even more illegal visitors to Chernobyl

Kyiv Region police once again found a group of extreme tourists in the Chernobyl Zone.

During the patrol, police officers of the Vyshhorod District Police Department together with employees of the State Border Guard Service in the resettled village of Ivanivka found 5 illegal tourists.

All of them – Kyivans, aged 20 to 43, arrived at the exclusion zone for the purpose of extreme tourism and entered the forbidden territory, bypassing the checkpoints.

Concerning violators police officers made reports according to Art. 46-1 (Violation of the requirements of the radiation safety regime in areas that have been radioactively contaminated) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.

Administrative materials were sent to the court for a decision.
