Ivano-Frankivsk Drama Theater is going on tour to Severodonetsk and Chernobyl. Viewers will see the play “Sweet Darussa” based on the novel “Maria Mathios”.
This event will be unique for the entire Ukrainian scene, because no theater has come there since the Chernobyl explosion, according to Public .
The entire star cast of the drama theater, as well as the author Maria Mathios, went on tour. According to the head of the theater, People’s Artist of Ukraine, Rostyslav Derzhypilsky, this event is very symbolic for them. After all, they go from the “red” zone to the zone close to the war zone, and to the exclusion zone.
Earlier, the theater was already in Severodonetsk, but this is the first time Chernobyl has been visited.
This idea came to Derzhypilsky spontaneously, but all the actors supported him without hesitation.
This became possible thanks to the partnership with the State Agency of Ukraine for Exclusion Zone Management and the NGO “PRYPYAT.com”.
On the eve of the 35th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, the creative team will play for self-settlers and exclusion zone staff.
Tonight, March 4, the creative team of the theater will meet with the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and show fragments of the requiem drama “Nation”.
On March 5, the play will be performed in the Chernobyl House of Culture.
All events are free and will take place on a volunteer basis.
