Police arrested 5 illegal visitors in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone

The other day, while patrolling the Chernobyl zone, police officers of the Vyshhorod District Police Department together with employees of the State Border Guard Service documented 2 groups of illegal tourists.

Three violators entered the restricted area near the Chernobyl 2 facility, and two more – near the village of Poliske, bypassing checkpoints.

The violators were Kyivans and a resident of Konotop, aged 22 to 35.

With regard to violators, the police drew up reports under Art. 46-1 (Violation of the requirements of the radiation safety regime in areas that have been radioactively contaminated) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.

Administrative materials were sent to the court for a decision.
