On May 31, in the Chernobyl Zone, four inhabitants of Kyiv who illegally got into the Exclusion Zone for the purpose of extreme tourism are detained.
In total, during the first 5 months of this year, 63 violators were detained in the Chernobyl zone.
The vast majority of extreme tourists detained during January-May 2021 – 51 people were Ukrainian. Among the other offenders were also three Russians, two French and two Germans, as well as one citizen each from Belarus, Lithuania, the United States, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
The last four stalkers were detained by law enforcement officers last night, according to border guards of the Mlachivka department of the Zhytomyr detachment.
Officers of the National Police drew up administrative materials against the detainees for violating the requirements of the radiation safety regime in the area that was exposed to radioactive contamination. The degree of responsibility of violators will be determined by the court.
