Chernobyl’s church held an orthodox holiday event

Every year on August 2, Orthodox Christians honor the memory of the Prophet Elijah – an Old Testament saint who occupies a special place in the Orthodox tradition.

Today in Chernobyl, in the St Elijah Church, the holiday celebration of the prophet Elijah took place.

Pilgrims from different parts of Ukraine, including those who once lived in the city and surrounding villages, gathered at the St. Elijah’s Church for the festival.
