Border guards and National Guard complete joint operation in Chernobyl

Border guards and National Guards carried out joint operational and preventive measures in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.

Servicemen of the State Border Guard Service effectively protect the Ukrainian border from illegal encroachments.

An indispensable component of reliable protection of the state border is the proper interaction and coordination of actions of both units of the border department and interacting law enforcement agencies.

A special area to which the management of the department constantly pays increased attention is the section of the border that passes through the Chernobyl Zone. In order to ensure the state border regime, survey and detection of the situation within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, border guards together with units of the National Guard of Ukraine for seven days conducted joint operational and preventive measures.

As part of the activities, interdepartmental groups worked out the issues of interaction and joint actions during the protection of the state border, covering the most threatening areas at the state border and compliance with regime restrictions within the resettled territory. The search for and prosecution of violators of their blocking and encirclement, service in observation posts and barriers were worked out separately. Departmental manned and unmanned aerial vehicles were actively used during combat missions and inspections of the state border line.

Practical elaboration of issues of interaction during the implementation of operational and preventive measures contributed to the acquisition by law enforcement agencies of capabilities, according to a single plan, to increase the level of readiness to perform the assigned tasks.
