Restored Police Checkpoint

The stationary post of the State Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Ukrainian RSR appeared in the exclusion zone, at the entrance to the city of Chernobyl.

This is not the news of the Soviet era, this is the modern truth.

Historical restoration was the initiative of the police of Kyiv region. They worked on this and finished it for the 2020 day of honoring participants of the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident.

Law enforcement officers are known to be among the first to enter an unequal battle with nuclear misfortune and selflessly continue to serve in the Chernobyl zone for many years. Chernobyl is a city that froze in the Soviet period. The streets have not changed their names here, like they have elsewhere. There are the streets of Soviet, named after Kirov, Lenin, etc.

From now on, the feeling like you’ve moved in a time machine is intensified thanks to a new location. The traffic police post in this place was here before, but it was abandoned, the building was destroyed.

After remodeling, it seems as if law enforcement officers left their post for only a few minutes – uniform is hanging in a police car, the lights are on in the room… Every small detail has been added.
