Fire Station

Pripyat Fire Station was the closest to the plant outside of the facility itself. On the night of 26 April 1986 crews were dispatched from here to try and fight the fire, and received lethal doses of radiation in the process. After this, they were advised to drink lots of vodka to reduce the impact of the radiation on their body, and these bottles are still here today.
