With the young average population of Pripyat, the cafe on the banks of the river was an extremely popular place for the population to hang out and socialise.
The cafe has beautiful artwork on the windows and prior to the disaster would be very busy in the evenings and at the weekend.
Behind the cafe was a landing area for pleasure boats.
